Annual grant distribution report of The Canadian Polish Millennium Fund for 2016

TORONTO – December 2016

During 2016 the Millennium Fund distributed $137,350 in various categories.

Scholarships for students from various Canadian universities totaled $63,350.

Organizations received $44,250; libraries and publishing enterprises received $2,750; schools received $7,750.

In addition, $11,242.36 from the Orlinski Fund was divided among four recipients: the Polish Scouting Association in Canada (ZHP pgK), Wawel Villa Seniors Residences Orlinski Archive and Museum dedicated to Polish soldiers, the Institute for Blind Children in Laski, Poland, and scholarships awarded to students of Polish descent enrolled in a professional pilot training program.

The board approved scholarships for applicants (descendants of Home Army veterans) totaling $73,000 from the Zbigniew Czaplinski P.Eng. Fund at the Strategic Charitable Giving Foundation.

The hm. Barbara Glogowska and Mieczyslaw Stitski bursaries for members of the Polish Scouting Association totalled $1,000.

During 2015 the Millennium Fund distributed $ 128,992 in various categories.

Scholarships for students from various Canadian universities totaled $63,550.

Organizations received $ 27,342; libraries and publishing enterprises received $ 4,250; schools received $ 12,850.

In addition, $14,907 from the Orlinski Fund was divided among four recipients: the Polish Scouting Association in Canada (ZHP pgK), Wawel Villa Archive Museum dedicated to Polish soldiers, the Institute for Blind Children in Laski, Poland, and scholarships awarded to students of Polish descent enrolled in a professional pilot training program.

The Board approved scholarships for applicants (descendants of Home Army veterans) totaling $ 21,000 from the Zbigniew Czaplinski P.Eng. Fund at the Strategic Charitable Giving.

In addition, $7,625 from the Orlinski Fund was divided among four recipients: the Polish Scouting Association in Canada (ZHP pgK), Wawel Villa Archive Museum dedicated to Polish soldiers, the Institute for Blind Children in Laski, Poland, and scholarships awarded to students of Polish descent enrolled in a professional pilot training program.

In addition, $8,894.00 from the Orlinski Fund was divided among four recipients: the Polish Scouting Association in Canada (ZHP pgK), Wawel Villa Archive Museum dedicated to Polish soldiers, the Institute for Blind Children in Laski, Poland, and scholarships awarded to 5 students of Polish descent enrolled in a professional pilot training program.

The board approved scholarships for 5 applicants (descendants of Home Army veterans) totaling $4,512.00 from the Zbigniew Czaplinski P.Eng. fund at the Strategic Charitable Giving Foundation.

In addition, $8,766.95 from the Orlinski Fund was divided among four recipients: the Polish Scouting Association in Canada (ZHP pgK), Wawel Villa Archive Museum dedicated to Polish soldiers, the Institute for Blind Children in Laski, Poland, and a scholarship awarded to a student of Polish descent enrolled in a professional pilot training program.
